IMPACT ANALYSIS

Product designs have reached new levels of performance in the world of hand held devices. These devices require many extreme properties in material strength, ability to resist water, moisture, dust, electricity, and the sudden impact of being dropped or hit.  Special care is taken in designing for all of these conditions and the product designs must be evaluated with new state of the art software. This software can test for the stresses that are inflicted upon the product during use. Since the impact of the product can produce much more extreme stresses, a special impact analysis must be performed to analyze the enough stresses created. The analysis is set up to look at impact from specified heights or speeds and also from any required direction. The change in direction can create extreme amounts of stress and deflection that can cause many different types of failures based on product shape and selected material type.
